An Invitation to Fulfil Your Destiny

Each of us is here on this earth at this moment in time for a purpose…and a significant part of that purpose has to do with healing, restoration, and reconciliation.

The story of Christmas is the story of God’s plan of redemption for an entire world that lost sight of Him, the source of Light and Life.

Jesus the Word, through Whom everything was made, left a realm so perfect we have almost no grid for it…immersing Himself as a helpless baby in this realm of imperfection so that

1) He could show us (and provide for us) the way back to our Father’s loving embrace through surrender and sacrifice, and

2) He could restore what was lost when sin drove a wedge between mankind and the holy and glorious God of all creation.

He laid down His life so that we could truly find life again.

If all that wasn't enough, He also invites us to be part of His family and part of His mission…the restoration of all creation to the glory it was (and we were) designed for. Romans 8:19, 21 says all creation is waiting for the revealing of the sons (and daughters) of God…in hope that it will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the glorious freedom the children of God experience!

Jesus told His disciples to pray that the Father’s will would be done on earth as it is in heaven. I just don’t think He would tell His followers to pray for something that isn’t possible!

There are certainly a lot of messed up things going on in the earth these days. You might not know how you can make any measurable difference, or feel like any little bit you attempt won’t make much of an impact.

Friend, you and I can’t do much in our own strength. But if God is directing our steps, there is nothing that is not possible with His power.

On our farm, collectively we are continually seeking to learn to heal the soil and produce healthier food from that soil. And we try to remain aware of opportunities for being agents of healing and reconciliation in the lives of others as our lives intersect. This is not an exhaustive description for the team as individuals of course, but generally speaking.

Maybe this calling manifests very differently in your life. Or maybe one of the ways you walk it out is by partnering with farms like ours...because you truly are making a difference in creation by your food choices!

The point is, we are all invited to be a part of this. We each have been given a destiny to walk into that has the potential to bring some restoration somewhere in creation.

This Christmas season (and always), let Jesus the Christ be the center of your focus.

Though we remember God’s greatest gift as the infant king this time of year, make no mistake…that wasn’t the end of the story, nor even the climax. But wow, was it significant! Light broke through our darkness. The God of the universe came to prove He was not far off but chooses to dwell with us.

Emmanuel. He’s with us still.

And you and I are still being invited to be a part of the story. What will you do with your invitation?
